This tour uniquely brings participants through the main shopping streets and the historic Georgian and Victorian quarters of the Grafton Street area. Visits include the Powerscourt Townhouse, the impressive city mansion of an 18th century aristocratic family, and now an extraordinary shopping centre. You get to see all this before arriving into the famous St. Stephen's Green Park, where countless generations of Dublin's toddlers have enjoyed the experience of feeding the ducks. This park, once a public hanging ground in medieval times, owes its present existence to the Guinness (of the Brewery) family.

Continuing down Dawson Street, you will pass by Dublin's smallest pub, the Dawson. In addition, you will see the elegant Mansion House, the home of Dublin's Lord Mayor for 300 years, and the Royal Irish Academy, a scientific and cultural institution since the 1700s. St Ann's Church is next on the list, with its lovely 18th century gallery interior and rich and quaint historic connections.

Weaving through some narrow streets you will arrive outside Davy Byrne's, a pub made famous by James Joyce in Ulysses. There will be a photo opportunity beside the celebrated Molly Malone statue before passing Trinity College and the classically proportioned Bank of Ireland, the former 18th century House of Parliament. A visit to the preserved House of Lords, dating from 1733 will be on the agenda, subject to the room not being closed for an official engagement.

Then through Temple Bar, Dublin's equivalent to Paris' Left Bank, before crossing the famous Ha'Penny Bridge over the River Liffey, to bring you to Dublin's main street and one of the widest boulevards in Europe, O'Connell Street. Around here you will find intriguing monuments including the magnificent O'Connell Monument commemorating Daniel O'Connell. He was known as the liberator because he achieved emancipation for Roman Catholics in Ireland and Britain.

Passing along the street and noticing other points of interest along the way, you will reach the General Post Office, the headquarters of the 1916 Rebellion and the de facto main shrine to Irish Independence. A visit is then made to the interior of the post office before concluding the tour at the spire, a 120m high symbol of the street renewal. This will leave you near Henry Street, Dublin's busiest shopping street and also close to all public transport. This is only 500m from where the tour started.

All of the guides are enthusiast of their native city and have been trained by a group of specialists. This tour will captivate the listener with vivid, engaging, and often amusing stories of Dublin City. Both old and new guides are guaranteed to make your city tour a memorable experience.

Note: Internal visits to Dublin Castle, the cathedrals and museums may be individually undertaken when tours end.
